When should I call iCare Family Vision about an eye problem?

Call us right away at (952) 222-3578 if you believe your eyesight is in jeopardy, if you are in severe pain, or if you have symptoms such as sudden vision loss, eye pain, new floaters, or flashes of light.

Are new floaters or flashes of light an emergency?

They can be. New floaters (spots, strings, cobwebs or shadows) and flashes or streaks of light are on our list of symptoms to call about right away at (952) 222-3578.

Is sudden blurry or double vision a reason to call?

Yes. Double vision, sudden blurring of vision that persists, and sudden vision loss are all reasons to call us right away.

What if my eye is red, painful or has discharge?

Pain in or around the eye, redness with eye pain, discharge, crusting, excessive tearing, or eyelids stuck together on waking are all reasons to call us.

What should I do for severe eye trauma, a chemical in the eye, or sudden loss of vision?

For a severe injury, a chemical splash, or sudden loss of vision, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room right away.
